The Bosworth Discovery Zone
If you are organising a day out with your family then a trip the Bosworth Heritage Centre is the perfect choice, as there are a range of activities including:
Family friendly guided walks, trails, the exhibition (with activities for children), the barn restaurant and the Bosworth Discovery Zone, a FREE space for families with young children.
The zone is the perfect place for families to relax and have fun in the indoor and outdoor spaces, which offer a selection of play and craft activities.
In February you and your family can get creative with nature with our woodland inspired arts and crafts and stories. Meet the Bosworth gnomes in March, learn about Tudors festivities and entertainment in April and in May be welcomed into a world of mythical creatures and trolls.
The zone is shut in June but we reopen in July when you and your family can learn about life in Roman Britain and the Celts – who was the warrior queen Boudicca and what did a Roman Soldier wear?
Then in August join us for a month of battle, princess and knight related activity to help us commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth, which took place on the 22nd August 1485. Why were knights so good at fighting? Was Richard III a good King? and how did Henry Tudor take the English throne?
To stay-up-to-date with our family programme and opening dates and times of the Zone please go to the What’s On page of our website.
A Family Day Out
Bosworth Battlefield is an excellent place for you and your family. Join one of our guided walks, which include a mixture of storytelling and role-play, select a children’s lunch box from the restaurant, complete one of the outdoor trails, look around the exhibition where you can dress up, watch some films and design your own shield.
Please note that the room within the Bosworth Discovery Zone has limited access for wheelchair users. Please call us on 01455 290429 if you have any questions.
