Country Park Car Parking: Blue Badge Holders

BLUE BADGE SCHEME COUNTRY PARKS SERVICE – CAR PARK SEASON TICKETS INFORMATION

In order to improve the collection of parking fees and improve security, pay on entry been installed in the car parks at Beacon Hill, Market Bosworth Country Park and Watermead (North) Country Park.

Benefits of a Season Ticket

• Valid for all Country Parks where charges are levied (except on Special Event Days, when special charges will apply).

• Valid for the life of the Blue Badge

• Saves paying for car parking on each visit

How Much Will a Season Ticket Cost?

If you are entitled to and hold a Blue Badge, the Season Ticket is £60 (plus deposit of £10) and will be valid for the 3 year period of your Blue Badge. If you lose the Season Ticket, you will be charged £10 for its replacement.

Alternatively, there are two other options:

1. £20.00 for 1 year.

2. £60.00 for three years (£10 refundable deposit applicable to both options)

How will the Scheme Operate?

You can obtain a Season Ticket by completing the attached form and posting it to the address given on the form. Please make cheque payable to Leicestershire County Council.

Where Pay on Entry has not been installed in a Country Park, you can continue to park free of charge provided your Blue Badge is displayed in your windscreen.

Details of how to operate the Pay on Entry system with your Season Ticket will be sent to you with the Season Ticket.

1. The Season Ticket is available for private motor vehicles.

2. A Season Ticket will be issued to a residential address and can be used by anyone living at that address who is a Blue Badge Holder. The Season Ticket is not transferable. Only one ticket will be issued and it will, therefore, only be valid for the parking of one vehicle at a time.

3. If you change your vehicle details or address, please inform the Country Parks Service at the address given below immediately, so that your records can be updated.

4. In order to prevent abuse of the Season Ticket system, the County Council reserves the right for the Country Park Staff to make checks to confirm the identity of the Season Ticket users. Your cooperation in this respect is requested. In the event of such abuse the right is also reserved to withdraw the Season Ticket.

5. If you need a replacement ticket the charge for this is £10.

6. Possession of a Season Ticket does not guarantee a parking space being available.

7. The closing time for the Car Parks is displayed at each site.

8. The Season Ticket will be valid at those Country Parks managed by Leicestershire County Council at which a daily car park charge is made. They include :- Beacon Hill near Woodhouse Eaves, Broombriggs Farm near Woodhouse Eaves, Burrough Hill near Melton Mowbray, Market Bosworth Country Park, Bosworth Battlefield near Market Bosworth, Shenton Station and Watermead Country Park (North) 9. The Season Ticket will not permit parking at Bradgate Park or Swithland Wood, which are managed by the Bradgate Park Trust.

9. The Season Ticket would not be valid should a Special Event be held at a Country Park, when a special charge applies.

10. No parking charge is currently made at the following County Council Country Park Sites :- Jubilee Wood near Woodhouse Eaves and Sheet Hedges Wood near Newtown Linford. If a parking charge should be introduced at any of the above sites during the period of issue, the Season Ticket will also apply to them without any further payment being required.

11. The Leicestershire County Council does not accept liability, under any circumstances, for any loss, damage or injury which occurs during the use of the Country Park and/or the Car Parks.

12. Regrettably, it is not possible to give any refund on a Season Ticket once purchased.

13. Shortly before your Season Ticket is due to expire, you will be sent a renewal form to enable you to renew it for another year. The expiry date of the Season Ticket will be the same as for your Blue Badge.
