Further Details

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

The “Inspiring Bosworth” exhibition is the culmination of a several month’s work with local schools and the community to enable a deeper understanding and exploration of the Battle of Bosworth story, made possible by a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The Project has included several free talks and activities, including class visits to Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, to give more information about the era and key points of the Battle, while schools and community members have worked with a range of artists to create a series of artworks inspired by the Bosworth Story. The artworks are specifically inspired by the six installations being created as part of the Bosworth 1485 Sculpture Trail, which is intended to link the villages and historic sites around the battlefield area to  form an exciting new tourism destination to the area.

Themes explored in the exhibition are: contemplation on the eve of the battle, the battle itself, the birth of a new dynasty, the healing of the divisions of civil war, reconstructing the story through archaeology, debating history and celebrating the ideas behind the historical trail itself.

Open daily between 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, up to Sunday 24th May – Admission FREE
