DragonFest 2025
We are excited to announce our inaugural DragonFest event for 2025.
Themed on the Welsh dragon found on the standard of Henry Tudor, this Living History event champions all things dragon!
From exciting battle re-enactments to family-friendly activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Activities will include:
- Re-enactments of key battles from the Wars of the Roses (please beware there will be loud bangs!)
- Dark Ages puppetry and storytelling
- Interactive Chinese dragon dancing
- Arming a Knight display
- Meet Henry Tudor
- Family Bill Drill
- Static birds of prey display
- Meet the re-enactors
- Dragon crafts
- Wandering dragons!
- Free entry to our award-winning Exhibition

There are a range of ticket options. Tickets are valid for one day.

Clash of Kings: Understanding the military tactics of the Battle of Bosworth
- Sunday 13th July, 1pm to 2pm
Join our Battlefield Guides as they take on the roles of Richard III and Henry VII to talk you through the military strategies used during the Battle of Bosworth in this informative and unique talk.
Castles of the Wars of the Roses – Guide Talk
- Sunday 20th July, 2:30pm to 3:30pm
Join one of our Battlefield Guides for a tour of the major castles of the Wars of the Roses.
Roman Around – Living History Weekend
- Saturday 26th July to Sunday 27th July, 10am to 4pm
The Batavi Re – Enactment group will be camped on site and covering a whole manner of everyday roman life experiences from home and family life aspects such as cooking and pottery to exploring the life and attire of a Roman soldier.
