Charnwood Bones Hands- On Activity Session

In this session, pupils learn about the Charnia fossil, handle real fossils, do hands-on excavating of “bones” (whilst also learning about basic anatomy), and look at skulls of different animals. They can also make their own fossil impressions with clay to take home.

Curriculum links: Science: Formation of fossils, bones and skeletal structure, evolution. History: Timeline of fossils, historical discoveries in the local area. Geography: Geology, local area study. Art: Clay work. English: Creative description of fossils and bones.
