Further Details

The Tournament of the Trident

Travel back in time with us as we re-visit the reign of King Henry VII and witness the tournament to end all tournaments.

Hosted by three separate re-enactment groups- Tournaments of Maximilian, Tempus Phenix, and Bellum Fraternum- this living history weekend provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a medieval tournament!

Saturday will include an immersive walk-through experience in which participants can experience what it would be like to be a member of the public at a tournament of this nature.

The aim of this day is to reconstruct as best as possible the setting of a tournament environment, the armour and fighting techniques involved and the cultural background found within a tournament of this nature. The tournament will feature armoured knights of various nationalities engaging in a real competition with various weapons to see who is the best and most noble combatant present.

Sunday will feature more interactive demonstrations with the public such as a medieval fashion show, an armour talk and a slow demonstration of a duel using poleaxes.

End this day with another tournament, during which the public selects the weapon and the fighter!

This event is £3 per person, under 3’s go free.

Purchase your tickets on the day from the ticket office or the shop.
