Medieval Medley Living History

This year we are not running the Bosworth Medieval Festival, as we are working on improvements to its format and accessibility for its return in 2024

The weekend of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August will instead see the site play host to a packed programme of activity. Visitors will be able to get up close to medieval history at the living history camp, where re-enactment groups from the Wars of the Roses Federation will recreate Yorkist and Lancastrian camps. Visitors will experience an eye-opening insight into the day-to-day workings of a battle camp.

An exciting programme will run throughout both days,  including archery and combat demonstrations, a fashion show and a walk-through Battle of Bosworth in which audience members will get the chance to participate.

There will be also be family friendly activities, guided walks, war gaming, and a fancy dress competition for children.

We also have some some fantastic additional events during the week leading up to the Medieval Medley weekend including Costumed Guided Walks and Knight School.

The traditional Rose Laying Ceremony will take place at the Memorial Sundial at 11am on Tuesday 22 August – the anniversary of the battle. You can also join an Anniversary Guided Walk in the afternoon.
